It is part of a clevis from a piece of old farm machinery.

It's off a plow stock or some other horse drawn type farm equipment. Can't think of the name at this time...d2

Yup .. a clevis.

That is it. Find gobs of stuff down here like that. Some things I should remember simply because we plowed and worked our garden with a horse up until about 15 years ago. Dad always did it, I just helped him get the horse hitched up and then would watch him...d2

It is a type of clevis, but it is also used as an evener, that's why it has several holes. Tony

it can be farm used or in the case of artillery --used for "height adjustment " --often CW artillery used a screw wheel type device to adjust for "height" ( trajectory / distance )
