Inspired by Kevin d’s thread, I didn’t want to hijack his but got me thinking, how these would be interpreted. Kevin’s remarks about the circle divided into triangles made me extra curious about the unidentified object with the square punched in the middle seemed to fit his description.

Hopi , possibly - there are many different representations and different uses for this crossed circle theme. Crossed circles can be found among the arts of the Native Cultures in the different regions.
Here is a link to a Hopi ring. the ring also incised metal and has the square "sacred" center, but not as old as yours

Guess I should say all dug at trade site se Kansas so That’s why I thought it would fit in your Great Plains interpretation, my best guess is possibly a thumb plate off a flintlock but that’s just because of the other gun parts

The design on the item with the square hole was put there with a wiggle tool. Looks like a sharpened screwdriver and it pressed down against the metal then walked back and forth. Very old method goes back many years with engravers of guns and such.

I have always thought some these incised marks on the bone were not random. But it is possible it was made with stone fleshing tools one cut to relase the meat the other to cut it off. Found in context with other artifacts in a shelter.
