So I found these on a homsite, circa 1880-1930. I've been pouring over they patents of this date but can't seem to find the design in any of the drawings.

The best I can figure it's from one of the many counting machine variations of the pat. date. There are 10 notches in it which seem to indicate a base-10 counting system.

Anyone feel like doing some patent search and see if you can match it?

the two pieces were found touching in the same hole, however I can't verify that they actually belong together. None of the points match up.

Close, but I don't think so. The ice cream scoops have the ...er gear teeth, at at 90 degree angle to work the bar.

and the first pat on an ice cream scoop was 1897

The threaded item looks like the screw-handle from a floor-drain stopper.
