Howdy all, took advantage of being able to dig holes in February in Indiana!!!! All from different homesites around the county. I'm not real sure what to think about the Mexican 8R, it's bronze and they did make real ones for a short time then but could be a counterfeit. Either way it's cool and it was found on the same site as my first Spanish 1/2R years ago. The large cent came out of a pasture that's why it looks so nice. The rosette I think had a picture in it maybe, can't really make it out. I think I got an Block I button front, if so this would be my first CS button. Fingers crossed!!! Injuns turned out nice and some other great buttons imo!!! HH y'all

Thx y'all and yeah being able to dig in Feb is kickass for sure :occasion14:

The 8R, while an interesting find, is counterfeit if not silver.
Your coin, if real, was minted in Guanajuato, a mint open from 1825 to 1900.
The mintmark is a 'G' with a small 'o' inside the 'G''; one of three Guanajuato mintmarks.
The assayer's initials are 'PJ', as shown.
Don in SoCal

That's a lot of really nice finds, congrats!
Love the counterfeit 8 and the buttons. Too bad the base got knocked off that point, it was a beauty.
