went out detecting with the surf-master ll, found about five pounds of crusher copper. and the ruff gross were drumming all around me, as I extracted the copper from the road....what a beautiful day it was...

I've read a lot of Michigan copper.
Very interesting story of what went abroad (if true).
Are you in the UP?
I seen some nice rough polished pieces at a Memphis gem and mineral show last week.
Guessing its called slag. Premium priced but very nice.
 

Ruffed Grouse were drumming. They make a sound to attract mates that is called " drumming". Watch the following video.
 

thanks for the footage of the birds drumming that 's cool my favorite bird the partridge and the click-a-dee an raven are the only birds that hang around all winter up here in the u.P of Michigan...thanks for the replies every one..

I heard one here drumming while detecting a corn field yesterday. I thought of this post as soon as I heard it.

We have those drumming pats down here in lower Michigan too! I'm about 40 miles from the Ohio border.
 

if you guys ever make the trip up here look me up....there's spots... we can hit up, old rock piles,ball fields,rail roads.parks,swimming holes.schools....
