Been answering ads on Craigslist like a madman for the past 2 weeks. 9 times out of 10 I either don't get any response or they tell me I'm too late and the stuff is gone. The ads I answer are for anything remotely interesting and what I try to buy at yard sales (almost like "cyber" yard-saleing).
I answered 2 ads today for coins and for records. Amazingly both guys called me back AND both guys were available this evening AND both guys were within 10 mins of my house! First house I looked through some crates of records, pulled out a STACK including some Beatles stuff, some old soul, R&B, and rockabilly 45s. Took the lot for $25 and on to the next house.
On the phone we had already agreed to $40 for 2 generic Morgans but he said he had more I could look at. I go through the lot and pull out what I want and say what do I owe you for everything including the 2 Morgans. He tells me I can have the entire lot for $70!
Here is what I got:
2 Morgans, 1 Barber, 1 Walker, 6 silver Washington quarters, 7 silver Roosevelt dimes, 2 Mercs, and 2 Large Cents (1842 and 1849). Nothing rare but I'm quite happy with my purchase anyway!
UPDATE:
This evening picked up 2 more coins for an additional $10. 1875 Seated Quarter and 1 war nickel.
The seated quarter I posted here: http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,428483.0.html
