Not sure what I have, but found at an old sports field. It's a number 8 on part of what appears to be a large dial (the edge is curved). The 8 has threaded holes in it like tiny light bulbs could possibly be threaded into it. The back has some sort of electrical connection. Maybe an old clock dial from the sports field?

I defer to you fellow experts here on TN. Thanks for the help!

I think what looks like an eight is perhaps a couple holes for a reach rod tool. This may have been some sort of a in ground cover. Just guessing.

Not electrical. I'm thinking the remains of a busted up old-school oil filter mount.

Wow, I would have never even considered the filter mount! Indeed, DCMatt is a wonderful asset to TN. Thanks so much for the replies, everyone!

You never know what's going to come out of those sports fields.

We used to hunt one in south Arlington (VA) probably built in the early 1960's. Based on the relics we dug, the field must have been constructed/leveled with dirt from a Civil War camp. Loads of CW bullets, buttons, and period coins came out of it.

Keep digging!
