it looks like its angled the wrong way to be part of a still kinda looks like a homade funnel to me

Brazed copper and looks handmade too. Looks like park of a mash cooker to me, if it isn't it could be very easily.

I cant imagine what part of making maple syrup this would be used for....you tap a tree ...gather sap in bucket ...pour in boilers....strain through cheesecloth and pour into jars.....

Its for a still. :D

i've made maple syrup and didn't use this but i'm not 200 years old. my grandpa made corn licker during the prohibition. great find. if nothing else, copper is a premium at the recycler station.
