Nope, my family bought this land in the 60s. It is before their time here. What I find here is mostly a mystery to me. But research of the land tells me there was a huge farm home on the adjacent property back in the 1940s maybe later and in from of the property was another property with a house dating back into the late 1800s. I'm guess people camped and hunted here as there is no homes I see recorded on here but I find items from 1890s through 1950s spread out on the 20 acres. I focus on two areas where i find a lot of stuff. The two areas have ash layers so either trash was buried and burned here or a property that wasn't ever recorded was here at one point. I also know about a mile from this property is where a old school house was located back in 1890s. In old maps I see there was a heavily tree filled area on my families property in the 1920s and in that area I find a lot of things kids may have carried around so I think it was the hangout area back when they'd cut through the field and the trees where there. I come up with all kinds of theories as I dig here.Awesome find! Is it possible a member of your family lost it long ago?
Could be may have found bits of it over the years. I've got lots of gears, pocket watch parts, and clock parts for some reason those are all over the placeNice find. Maybe the other part is laying around out there.

Reminded me of A Christmas Story
I've seen the movie so many times, no matter how many times I've seen it I watch it during the Xmas season. It made find this real cool for me once I Googled it and figured out what it was.that's cool. Always been on my wish list of items to dig. I think it's neat that they changed the style of them each year and love the fact that they were dated. I love dated items. I you'll look closely as Ralphie uses his in the movie, it's a 1940. Look even closer and you can tell it's an original because the plating is slightly bubbled as most antique nickel plated items do over time. I really enjoy the movie because the character of Ralphie is practically the same age my Dad was in 1940, and besides that it's just a great movie.
