It has been 6 days since we discovered the 64 silver coin spill. Since then the farmer has disc the field and brought more goodies to the surface. We were able to eyeball a Large Cent and 3 ringer just sitting on the surface. :laughing7: So I walked to the spill location and rechecked the area real good. Found another 7 silvers scattered by the plow. That makes 79 silver coins and 3 large cents that I personally dug from this farm not including other people that have found silver. Smokeythecat :cat: had a amazing discovery yesterday but ill let her tell that story. So I had about a hour of sunlight left and dug a few keepers. Ended up with 7 silvers, 1848 Large Cent, variety of CW bullets ( 2 I have never dug before), big camp lead, possible game piece lead, few buttons, general service button ( my first complete dug), horse buckle and 2 keys. The farmer has seeded and you can barely see little sprouts so I think this season is over for this site. :BangHead: We might be able to walk the perimeter but I don't like disturbing good crop. Thank you for looking and GL & HH

Sorry about the pictures. Don't know why its like that. weird?

And I did a video for him. I'll work on it over the weekend. Don't feel good right now, and going to crash and burn for awhile. I found this HUGE HHHUUUGGEEE aluminum can but not quite aluminum can signal under a fallen tree. Small tree. We were SUPPOSED to be looking at the woods edges only. We did wander a bit. I'll let you know what it was soon. There were 3 houses and a barn on the property, Place has had history going back to about 1790.

what a killer site, totally amazing finds. yeah, stay on the good side of the farmer

Very nice!! Congrats and HH

Thank you everyone!! We have had a amazing season between our two sites.

Now, mind you this, I have hunted numerous sites in four contiguous states this year, including quite a few beach hunts in warm weather. Since September I have found TWO gold and diamond rings, A Rev War belt plate, my first ever, also, my first ever for sure War of 1812 musket balls, FOUR Confederate buttons, and all were "accidental" finds, in that I was not on a known Confederate site, oldest Indian cent an 1865, first Standling Liberty quarter, James I silver groat, Elizabeth I silver schilling, I was jazzed by finding the lip to a bellarmine jug, it's 400 years old, an Indian hand ax, first seated dime, a few harder to get minie balls, TWO solid silver American pre 1860 silver teaspoons, one is at a jeweler getting straightened, it is seriously bent, and a lot of clad and I have saved the known universe from the scourge of aluminum. Yesterday we hit it big again. I didn't get to enjoy it for long as I was taking my gloves on and off so not to mess up my new camera, and my gold school ring was gone! I figured it had slid off when I pulled the glove off. I have lost a lot of weight this year. So heck with what I found, I then proceeded to frantically detect the area we had been in, and neither Darryl or I could find it! Took the wind out of my sails. I would have gladly given up the find for the ring! Talk about distracted. Focus on digging was totally shot at that point. Well, I found it. At the house. I had taken it off and put it on a table. Note to self: Write this stuff down! And its not summer yet, but I slow down in the summer.

I figured it was at the house. We detected the areas real well, getting a few relics along the way and I couldn't find it. I say that's a very good year, amazing finds.

Wonderful silvers, However I am interested in that unique key. You know anything about it? (Key with wing)

WOW a great couple of hunts with all that silver

Here is the most recent video. At first we just thought it was a plowed up pocket spill, could be, but since Darryl found his banner cache, I'm starting to wonder. Remind me never to bury anything outside. Somebody half a century after I'm gone will find it and my kids won't get it.

And yes, all live digs from locating a signal to evaluation. Farm is VERY rocky. There is probably 20 TONS of rocks in the bigger woods on the farm the farmers have removed from the fields in the last century and a half. I don't try to "guess" what I dig ahead of time. I don't know how Darryl ID's what TYPE of coin he has, dime, quarter, clad, etc. before he digs them. And yes I call my machine "The Horrid Beast". Some days. After all, it sucks stuff out of the ground!

Thank you ScubaDetector. Sorry, I have no clue about keys. This is actually my first complete skeleton key. Its made of brass and measures 3 3/4 inch.

I think the key could be late 18th century into the 19th. Can't tell for sure. There is not a lot of info on keys out there, but the more recent in time, the smaller keys have become.

Nice finds. Cashay, lol. :laughing9:
