Parrot Shell ?

Found this today and I am 99% sure it is the inside of a parrot shell according to the cut away diagram. There are definatly whole lead shot on it and the rest is iron. Diameter and legnth is right on. Found in a trench line and defensive area that was occupied throughout the civil war.

What are your opinions?
