parking lot change update

Well, its been about 5 weeks since I started this little experiment. Picking up any change I see on the ground, or scooping up left overs from the coin star return slot. Like I said in the first post I go to 10 or 14 grocery stores per work day so I'm in a good position to find lots of change lying around. In 5 weeks I'm up to 4.86 in change. Not to bad for free money. From the coin star machines so far I've found 2 pre 1964 silver Rosevelt dimes, 2 Canadian quarters, 3 Canadian dimes, 2 Canadian pennies,a2004 one dollar coin that says East Caribbean States, a 1994 1 dollar Mexicanos coin, and a partridge in a pair tree.

i found a quarter in the coke machine here at the office yesterday, first found coin in 2 stinkin weeks...even the food lion parking lot (where i generally find money just about every trip) has been barren...sheesh...guess with the holidays people are paying attention to their money, and with the rug rats runnin round findin all my pennies etc.

My sister some time back told me about an article she had read ( I still have not been able to locate it! ) Where a gentleman had taken to walking about parking lots during his spare time. . in hopes of getting some much needed exercise as well picking up any fallen change he had found. . his children, all teens, were very embarassed by him doing this so when he invited them they naturally scuffed. . imagine how their scuff surely changed ( excuse that pun ) when by the end of one year he had gathered over $9000 in change. . . $9000!!! Can you imagine that? & to top it off. . tax free

Wow! 9,000? That guy must of had lots of spare time. My wife looks at me like I have no shame when I tell her what I scooped out of the coinstar, or what I found on the way into a store. I'm sure she will change her tune when I cash in that found money & get her something nice! (or throw that money towards a md upgrade )
