Finally able to get back out and swing today. Rain and warmer temps melted all the snow the last couple days. Of course, everything is still soaked. Hit a local park with woods. I've been wanting to check out the woods for months. Had the Deus 2.
First three finds in the woods were shotgun headstamps. I have ariel views going back to 1939 that show these woods so two of these show that time period. Actually, all three, but the western could have been dropped many years later.
US Cartridge Company Climax Circa 1925, Remington UMC New Club 1911-1914, and Western Super-X 1932-1964
I didn't spend too much time in the woods. I realized after I got in that I should have used the ORX with the 9x5 coil. Would have been able to swing easier. So, I decided to head over to the concession stand. No, not for lunch. It's closed this time of year. The park is loaded with ball fields, so I thought maybe people drop change while waiting. No such luck. Pull tabs only.
I headed over to the pavilion and hit a clad patch. I didn't dig it all as it was getting toward 4PM and I needed to get home. I'll be back at some point to dig more. Although more rain coming tonight through Monday morning.
It was a nice couple hours, so good to get back out. Really didn't dig too much trash, just a hand full. I must be learning.
Thanks for looking...
