I'm itching to pull the trigger on a new MD, and have read all the reviews I could - but they are so contradictory they are of no help. So I need first-hand reviews of my fell Alabama MDs who are familiar with the local soil. I am considering - in order - Whites MXT (perhaps a DFX if a good deal), MX5 (curious of it), Teknetics Omega and Tesoro Outlaw.
I current use a humble tracker IV ($67) & don't want to spend 10X that for a machine that doesn't perform that much better. I currently get about 5" depth...it would be a letdown to pay $700 for a new MXT that only got another inch or two. I live in north Huntsville.
SO, what machine do you use (do you have others to compare it to), how does it perform (depth, noise) and what configuration
