Paper FAQ equivalent to CRH instructional sticky?

I realize this would be a lot broader subject then just slicing open a roll and looking for coins without a copper line on the edge, but what is some of the methodology that you pros would recommend using when searching; what years should we watch out for; any special things besides star notes and silver certificates, etc? Just the absolute basics to be able to whet our appetite to peak the interest in a brand new area of TH for those that have not explored this option before.
