Panning in Va

I would love to get into panning and I was wondering if someone would be willing to show me a little or let me go with them a time or two to learn?

Search to see where the local gpaa chapter holds its meetings. As I understand, you do not have to be a member to attend. There is also a web page dedicated to va panning. I cannot remember the name off the top of my head. Also search this forum for posts about VA gold. I am 650 miles from my va property, so unfortunately I cannot help you directly. Be aware of private property, and there are several claims in VA, so you don't want to be claim jumping.

I have tiny micro gold in my creek (which is not located in the gold/pyrite belt). Even though I've only panned a few buckets this year, I have to get a sluice for next year so I can work a lot of material and catch the flour gold, which is common in va. a 2.5 ounce nugget has been found in my county, so I have hope!
