Panning in northeast PA

there is supposedly gold in the creeks in NE Pa
but I Believe you need Magnifying eyes & allot of patience
to find & see it.

all the gold I Panned so far has been on my Kitchen floor,
from bags of dirt purchased at the GPAA shows in Carlisle
etc.

Is there a specific name for those bags? I'd like to look on eBay.

I think there is gold here. Just has to be found. I know back in the mid 1800's there was a mining company in Mauch chunk looking for gold. They found some but not enough to support the company.

some call it concentrates

some call it paydirt

I'd beware buying off Ebay

I think 90% of the time it's empty dirt with gold flakes added, so you can practice.

You would be better checking out the GPAA site & Buy from them,
or a Gold panning club.
or hopefully find someone on here who knows a trustworthy source

yes they also mined gold on the side in lebanon county, while mining iron ore
but the flood of 72 ended it

Hi dgrs2,
Gpaa gold bags are called tom & perrys paydirt sold on the gpaa site. Another very good and reputable and more expensive is Felix paydirt out of alaska. I got a 1.5 gram nugget from felix some years ago with several pickers. All of the places that sell paydirt salt their dirt.

Good Luck!
