Panning in Colorado

I really could use some quick help here on where to pan gold in Colorado. Will be taking the family from Michigan to Colorado for a couple week vacation starting next week. We plan to camp somewhere in the Rockies within a hundred miles west of Denver. I am experienced at panning, but don't belong to the GPAA yet, so I can't go to any of their claims. I have researched the internet for gold locations, but really would rather have someone who has found gold in this area themselves give me a more specific area that we can be successful in finding some color. I'm trying to get the rest of the family hooked on prospecting (I'm already a gold nut) so I need a spot where everyone can get a little. Hope to hear from someone soon! Thanks. John
