Use a magnifying glass and look at the different color patterns...and if they are a series of dots, then you have a lithographic copy as opposed to an original or limited edition

Take the glass off, take finger and dab the art to see if you get a trace of chaulk on your finger

Just tidying up some blasts from the past (including some very ancient ones), largely for the benefit of anyone searching the site for information.

This is by the New York City commercial graphic artist and illustrator Monte Weiner, working from circa 1930s to 1950s. The ballerina series has more than a dozen different paintings produced as lithographic prints which are usually marked in the bottom left corner “© E.G.Co” for the New York art publisher Edward Gross Co. Inc.

At the time these were first produced, United States copyright lasted for 28 years plus the ability to extend for a further 14 years, so later prints may not have a copyright protection mark.
