Hi,
New to the "Garage Sale" section, well actually new to the whole TNet. Read thru lots of the Garage Sale Posts and have already learned quite a bit. Thanks.

Anyways, picked this painting up at a garage sale two weeks ago. Paid $20, little research, found a buyer on the net and shipped it off yesterday... $500!

Also picked-up the very large signed JC Penney framed photo for $10 at a tag sale next door. Auction gallery said I should get around $250. Off to the auction it goes.

Thanks for all the good stuff, keep-up the hunt.

Sean

I like that painting! Do you remember who the artist was?

Thanks everyone. I'll be off early Sat. to look for some more goodies. Keep an eye out for art, I like to look for stuff I might like to hang. That usually keeps it a safer buy for me.

Baylor Hall, here's a little info. on the artist below. The weird thing was there was a bio on the back of the painting as well as the name of the painting and a date of 1960. I guess no one wanted to do more research or something. If I couldn't sell it, I was going to hang it, because I thought it was nice also. Thanks

The Artist: Samuel B Pratt was born in Unison, Virginia, May 28, 1903 and studied four years under Eugenie de Land Saugstad and Alexius Manny and from 1919 to 1934 at the Washington School of Art. He also studied four years under Will H Chandlee 1923 through 1926; Corcoran School of Art 1927 through 1930 under Eugen Weisz, Burtis Baker and Richard Merryman. He studied outdoor painting under Eugen Weisz and Garnet.

great job on the resale of the painting. I've got a signed and numbered Roger Tory Peterson print I picked up this summer at a yard sale. How did you go about finding a buyer for your painting? I'd like to look into selling my print.
