Painting artist and pottery hallmark help. Please.

Haven't posted in awhile...I'll try to get back in the swing.

Picked up an interesting little vase and may purchase a painting if the artist can be identified.
The painting is quite large and their asking price is nearly $200 so I'm hesitating.

Here are pics of the items, any help would be greatly appreciated!

It says Royal Crown Handmade Pottery, from North Carolina.

According to my pottery book the company only operated between 1939 and 1942. They had a contract to supply florists wear, like vases to New York florists but closed when they couldn't get the materials. According to my book, most pieces are not marked, which makes your even more rare. Great find
