hello everyone,

I own a fisher f75 LTD, I did this when I was younger, wow how thing's have changed, I do hope to learn from everyone. My brother, is big time into this metal detection, he recommended this site, since I have a fisher. I do have a couple questions, I do mostly beaches, I went today for the first time, but I could not ground balance it, so I set it to 10. it seemed to work fine. I was having a frustrating experience, my ltd was picking up from 81-95 at about 16" deep, my problem was, I could not dig any deeper than 10" I kept hitting this seaweed bed at 10", the signal was very strong, this is a relatively obscured beach and I was getting strong signal every where, just could not dig beyond that 10". QUESTION: would anyone advise me as to the settings I should be using for beach use. I did bury 4 items all different on the beach and the LTD found all of them and the only sounds I was hearing was that of different metals.
Would appreciate any advice. thx

Welcome aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Maine for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state. A member will pipe in shortly to help ya out.

First. Welcome to Tnet. I also have the Fisher F75LT. The machines are very sensitive. I haven't hunted the beach yet but in the manual you should read that in wet sand or very wet soil you will probably have to set the sens. at 29 or below which puts the machine in a different mode. Its not suppose to hurt the depth. Also try to hunt in All metal. If that doesn't work, to the discriminate side and try BP mode. Mud.webpGood luck.

Hello and welcome to the site!

thx rook, so far, it seems to be a very good and quite machine and it is picking up down to 16" and it is sensitive. I was really frustrated when I kept hitting that nickel-quarter loud zipping at the 16" deep, no way was I able to get through it, well maybe a back hoe, lol, but if I could, and the unit is truly picking up @ 16", I would be into a ton of God knows. this beach is really isolated and it is located right near a mansion. it has a small drive to the main house, the house sits on an island, not many beach goer's but, I suspect with this wealthy and old home that has been there for over 100 years, the beach much be full of goodies.
any ideas let me know

Welcome, the sub forum for Maine is under Treasurenet by Location near the bottom of the forums. If you are using the F75 on a saltwater beach, you will have to manually ground balance it. 0-20 is salt in many parts of the country.
