Very cool. Steve sent me pictures of the Owl Face earlier this week. No doubt it's an Owl and like Steve said it looks like a Great Horned Owl. Just an awesome find.

Is that a Shell Tube Bead inside the Copper Bead? I have a buddy that has a Copper Tube Bead with a Shell Disc Bead fused to one end.

Thanks larson1951, if you've not seen one like it makes it even more cool, but we have found quite a few very "unique" and distinctively different shards.

You're right the awl is a scoop. I actually knew that but I got awl mixed up. I guess I'll have to count these if I want to keep the streak going.

Thanks Reaper, I think it's a bone bead inside the copper one. You can see the other end of the bone through the hole in the middle. Was it there to keep the copper from wearing or cutting into the cord it was strung on or was it used as something to roll the cooper around to make the copper bead? I don't know why it's there but I don't think it's there by chance.

i am thinking it could be a denitalia tube shell inside there and agree that it did not end up inside the copper by accident
if it is a denitalia shell it would make that piece even more rare and cool
that broke piece you posted is a way cool and super rare find but i am thinking it was a pottery multi-tool like this one here
i hope you don't mind me posting this image for comparison
