Just got back from China, where I finished out the last 3 weeks of the year. Sad to say, CRH much harder over there; mainly since I don't speak the language well, but also cause coins just aren't used much anymore. I did make it to Hong Kong and Macau, both of which use Hong Kong dollars, and was hopeful to see dollar coins in use in the Macau casinos, but no such luck - they're all electronic now, at least the ones I went to. At first I thought Hong Kong had a lot of potential for CRH'ers, as the dollar, two dollar, and five dollar coins are very popular, and the designs/sizes haven't changed much in the last 50 years, but alas, almost all the coins since then have been copper/nickel.
On a different note, one of the tellers I talked to today (back in the US, thank God!) mentioned that she visited her family over the holidays in Ecuador, where they use the US dollar and half dollar coin extensively, and have for decades. That sounds like it's got potential, should anyone get down that way.
