well while poking around at the local coin shops 10 cent dump box -- found some "overlooked" silver --- ah arabic coins -- not having modern easy to read english numbers or letters most american coin dealers say to heck with it and pitch almost all arabic coins that they get from bulk lot buys in the dump box as they sort thru the stuff -- their loss is my gain -- now the easy tip on how to spot this gem --- on one side in the center is a heart shaped looking mark --- on the flip side of it at the top is a crown and below it is a loin 3 paws on the ground with a raised sword in his front paw --- it a nice sized coin --- often due to the fact the more modern arabic coins are coppa nickle that looks closely like silver these coins are chucked into the dump bin without be IDed -- its a silver 5 rial coin from iran during the shah's reign ----the heart design is the number 5 in arabic --the loin with the sword was the shah of iran's emblem --- muslim money normally does not have people on it or human figures --- fancy arabic scroll type writing and animals yes but not humans --- good luck and the next time your in the coin deals place poke around in the "junk" box --you might just be surprized ay whay you find in it --- Ivan
