Be a good one if it does not pump out a lot of water or floods. Nice pictures and good looking creek.

It looks to me like it's too close to the creek and I'm sure the water gets in therw when the creek rises. I doubt it was used for occupation and was probably formed by the creek swirling around in there over the years.

looks like SRV is right but,
If I had a few hours to check it out then why not ?
I have a friend that has found some nice things in areas where i have told him "don't waste your time you won't find too much there, and then he goes and finds an awesome piece, but...........usually not very many as in a higher percentage piece of ground
so sometimes, go figure?
but i do agree it does look like a washout to me at first glance

:headbang: Gotcha. Maybe we'll save it for last. There's probably 10 or more overhangs/caves on this piece of land farther up in the hills. I'll take some pics and post them real soon. There's a creek farther up that is about 50 to 75 ft. wide and dry as a bone. Looks like an old river use to run there. I was walking with the land owner and was running out of time to really look. :headbang:

Hey? Sometimes on creeks like that in the ridges there may be some shelters up higher on the hills or ridges. When the water went down it cut out some dandy's. Maybe there are some a little higer up the hills? Looks like a good area to winter over with shelter from the winds.

Yep, shelters and overhangs above the flood plain are ideal. Always enjoy me some wild and wonderful WV scenery though thanks for the look.
