Hi everyone,

Just wanted to post something in the Deus forum. I purchased my Deus a few months ago and love the machine. I was fortunate to get some tips from a long time Deus user. I also purchased Andy's book and have watched every one of Gary's tutorials on YouTube multiple times. I'm looking forward to our winter detecting season in New England. To quote a good friend of mine, "Dig colonial or go home."

I have also enjoyed reading the tips here on this forum. Thanks. 74692556_10215171464463565_1753957389763084288_n.jpg

You'll love it. its one of the best machines ever made. I use Deus Fast, 74khz with the HF coil and tracking balance. I dug so much yesterday my arm is (no fooling) literally throbbing.

Once I switched to the DEEP program my good finds went up.

If I ever renounce my Luddite membership, it will be for a Deus.

I really like my XP.

Well I’ve got one on the way! Kind of excited to see what will turn up following myself with the MX-Sport!

Smokey's going to make us all converts lol. I just got one and haven't had the time or means to learn a new machine but have watched Gary's videos. Now I just need to put some time in with the unit and see what its about!

Tommy, you like, um, didn't just upgrade recently to a Deus, did you? ROFL

Thanks everyone. I have already made a couple of really nice finds with my Deus including my very first Spanish Half Reale.72169031_10214946023147673_5545870520890687488_n.jpg71014324_10214946023427680_1110047491790733312_n.jpg71933269_10214942299774591_567194012469952512_n.jpg

Is the cover you got on the control worth getting?

Oh and nice find!

Is the cover you got on the control worth getting?

I like the silicone cover. It does provide some protection to the remote. It's very inexpensive and will save you some scratches on your remote. It's not waterproof so I had to cover it with a plastic bag in the rain a couple of weeks ago. It's not completely transparent but I run my Deus with the backlight on and it works for me. I can see everything I need to just fine.

Hey Donny B, a certified New England cellar hole hunter like yourself should use the arm band controller holder. It will make your life a lot easier. You'll never have to worry about the controller popping of the stem when hiking through the brush, or dropping it into a stream. Also with the arm band , you can basically just toss the Deus to the ground and not worry about breaking anything. You will be amazed at how you will like doing that. :laughing7: Get a good signal, toss Deus to the side, dig target, pick up Deus and move on to the next target. It's the only way to roll :icon_thumleft:

Good luck with the Deus, I might get one in the near future. Congrats on the finds.

Wait until you noobs see what the x/y screen is all about.. the Deus is my favorite detector. Good luck guys!

I have the armband but I haven't used it yet and don't think I would like it. I secure the remote with a zip tie through the small hole on the remote and then thread that through another zip tie on the handle. It's not perfect but it's better than nothing.

I have had my Deus for a few months now. I'm using custom programs that I picked up from a couple of long time Deus users. I actually plan to use the X/Y screen this weekend and see if it works for me.

Donnie B. Good luck with your new Deus.
I never have used a Deus, I roll with its little bro-Orx cause I don’t like messing with settings and programs beyond the most basic
