Outstanding Mason's Medal and KG II

Just getting back to posting on Tnet.
Was on vacation week before Easter visiting my wife's sister and her family in Rhode island. Got a chance to do some quick hunts including finding a nice KGII (1746). However, the find of the week was this Mason's medal for 25 years of service.
Upon cleaning, I discovered the brother's name and the dates of his 3 levels(?). The name is William R Flagg and his brotherhood started in June of 1870. For me, i love finding personalized items.
Right now trying to track down Mr. Flagg's relatives and if no success, will give the Lodge itself a call and thinking about donating it as it is a great relic from their past.

Thats a nice pair of finds,I hunt in R.I. once in a while too, when I visit my wifes family..best I managed in RI(southern RI near exit 1 off I-95) is a barber dime and a sterling ring

Congratulation!

As a mason myself, I think it's outstanding that you would return it to his family or to the lodge he belonged to. Kudo's to you. HH

You can contact the local lodge or the Grand Lodge of that state and they will be able to help you with locating his family. He may have relatives in the organization. If all else fails the lodge he was a member of would love to have it and would probably give you a certificate for donating it to the lodge. Very nice find. The 3 levels you refer to are degrees He was a 3rd degree mason.

Super nice finds Love that medal.:icon_thumleft:
