I went back yesterday to the site I did the other day. The first time I found a 1903 Indian head, 1906 fish scale & a 1963 dime.
This time I used the 5 3/4" coil.
I found 3 large cents (1902, 1903, 1903) another 1903 indian head, 1934 quarter, 2 dimes (1941, 1947), 1942 nickel, 1965 penny which I cleaned. Also a first for me, 2 round buckshot and a buckle. Pretty much everything was under 5" except one of the buckshot which was at about 6 1/2". I thought I got gold digging the nickel which has a goldie tinge to it. Was really hoping for a ring or something or a coin from the 1800's. Happy with the small coil.
After that hunt I changed back to the 8" coil and did the side line of a soccer field my daughter plays on. Some of the clad was just in the grass, the rest I dug. All uncleaned. Ended up with $13.38.
Best detector I've ever used even after using the Explorer SE for 4+ years. I thought I'd be kicking myself for selling it but it would be collecting dust if I hadn't.
