Sunset Beach is hours from Corolla. The beach is very long. Corolla to south Nags Head. Good luck just dont go south of Nags Head as it is a National Seashore that prohibits MD.

Too many beaches for me,,,,Sunset is just N. of Myrtle ....... my bad :laughing7:

Illegal on Hatteras Island. But legal from the Virginia line down to South Nags Head. I detected south Nags Head about 3 years ago and found a stainless steel spoon. I told my family it was a spoon from a ship called the S.S. Oneida.

Didn't find much else, but had fun. I can' sit still when I am on the beach. I either fish or detect.

S. S. Oneida...that is funny

I would suggest a lightweight fishermans lifevest if your working in the water on the beach. Plus you can use the pockets to put some finds. It really has helped me when doing rugh water detecting

That is an interesting approach. What do you call a lightweight life vest. How would one stay connected to the bottom. Every time a wave would come he would float of the spot. If he wears a wet suit that is quite a bit of buoyancy.

Sorry bout that. Didn't realize he was diving with the wet suit on. I usually where a fishermans life vest over my wet suit when working in waist deep water cause it helps when waves come by and I have a detector in one hand and sand scoop in the other
