i certinaly looks like a tool of some sort could be a chopper

Are they collectable in any way? I do much with arrowheads and tools. I figure i could trade sell or give it as a gift to someone who would enjoy it more than me

Looks like a native american skinning tool maybe its almost as big as maybe a tomohawk but id imagine it would have dents in the sides for the handles forks but it deinetly looks worked.

The stone looks like a scrapper for hides but I could be wrong. Worth checking out in the Indian find forum here.

Your Friend,

Steve in Michigan

From my studies and the information of a lot of folks I trust, that is a chopper, mostly used to smash bone or anything else that needed chopping I suppose.....as far as monetary value, not much. People do collect them but they are fairly common around most camps.....nice find tho and keep looking in that spot, there may be points or other tools present....goat

thanks for the info! I will give it to a friend who loves these artifacts and show him the area it was found in.
