Pretty much where I am always, but took a drive down to Cottonwood Pass today. Went over thru Leadville and over to Twin Lakes, a favorite camping spot of mine. Still a lot of folks around here in the high country, campers, hunters, and just looky-loos, like I was today.

Is cottonwood open all the way now?

So beautiful! :occasion14:

Naw, Cottonwood is closed at the summit. I don't figure they will get that before winter, so maybe next year. Makes it a long way to get to Taylor Reservoir.

Man o man! You guys in this forum take some beautiful photos! I want calendars! Puzzles! Large framed prints!

I guess they're straightening out the west side. I don't know if they're going to have any more of it paved, but I would think they would. I sure hope they have it open next year, that's my shortcut to the Gunnison valley. It may be the same distance as monarch, but i definitely use less fuel going over it and it's also a pretty drive.

Steal any one of mine you want, Wrightdigger. There are some good photographers on here. Me and tamrock can make the claim of being 'award winning photographers', but I think that ron woodcraft takes some awesome pics.

Well, thank you, very much! I might take you up on that.

I posted a picture some time back were I was overlooking the same veiw of your 3rd picture, but it had snowed the night before. It's worth a trip up there before it gets too buried in snow.

Go over Tincup instead, then you get to stop in at Frenchys for some tincup pie!
