Found it on the beach at a pioneer site I knew of and had no idea what this was so I showed to my 90 year old dad....he didn't skip a beat, knew exactly what it was right away. He had actually seen them used quite a bit in his youth. I'll bet a lot of you know too.....

Awe,that looks pretty old, awesome your dad is able to tell you what it is:icon_thumright:,,HH

Looks like an old soldering iron.

I do believe he is right, soldering iron.

"call me Ismale"???

Very interesting find. Glad your Dad could ID it. I am throwing my guess in the bag. Is it a scoop for the famous Sky Scraper Ice cream cones???

yep for all you who got soldering iron...dad took one glance and said "blacksmiths soldering iron" . His grandad used to own the drayage business (with wagons) in the small western town he grew up in and he would see such tools used all the time.

Soldering Iron.....................cool find................HH
