Before I took it to my coin/jewelry guy I started to realize nothing this valuable falls in my lap. Ever. So I took the 10k acid and put directly on charm and it bubbled and discolored it. Damn counterfeit! I did take it up there anyway because the guy that works up there is in his 70s and has decades of experience in this. Thought I would get some tips from him. While there I see a Bare Breasted Liberty and had to have her. Got to get my jollies somewhere. Shes pretty.:laughing7: On the way back to my truck I find this "gold" chain on the ground. Once home I look at the clasp and it says 18k and what looks like RGA? This was an easy one to solve though. A magnet stuck to it and the rust was a dead giveaway. Though in my defense I didn't have my glasses on and just looked like dirt to me. I'm on a junk jewelry streak.

Still fun to find!!! Congrats!!!

Thats a good looking lady liberty. Love the SLQ's, still havent dug one yet.

It says 18k RGP... which means "Rolled gold plate".

Haven't found one either. I figured at least I can hold one in my hand if I buy it.:laughing7:

That's a lovely looking SLQ!

Hogtown, congratz on the great find(s)! Not to get all wacky on you but "thoughts are things." If you believe you're only going to find "junk" you're going to have a hard time breaking outta that pattern. Ask any old timers around here, each piece of junk gets you one plug closer to the good stuff! I do a little mental happy dance each time I pull a pull tab or bobby pin out of the ground.
