First thought is maybe part of a mirror stand... looks to be late 1800 early 1900's, can you post a close up of the center of the curved part and one of the back?

Cowboy hat holders look similar too....but that one looks a little shallow. The hat rests upside down on one.

Hold on there a moment...perhaps this is a rush to judgement...

For that to be a shaving mirror, it would have to be a full 180 degree bend so that the mirror would swivel...it's not.

And it doesnt appear to be flattened either.

Look into old victorian catalogs for other applications...
