Ornate stamped sterling silver disk

I found this the other day in the ground and it rang up like a dime. LOUD.

It's stamped and has one notch. The quarter is there for size reference.

Both sides are identical.

Any suggestions appreciated

It looks like the lid to a lady's compact.

Looks like it may have been attached to a ladies powder container, something that sat in the bedroom or bath room.
