Photo's aren't great, but by looking at them it looks like it was a cast metal with maybe some silver plate.
If it where a dish or serving utensil it was cheaply made. Have you tested it ?

Tested as in how? Sorry still new to the hobby and learning the ropes.

It's really hard to say what it was without having a few more bits to judge the shape.

But if someone was twisting my arm for an ID I say early 20th C candy/bonbon/nut dish.

Stab in the dark...I'm thinking another direction...the design looks Eastlake, perhaps a piece of a doorplate or some other hardware like a drawer pull?

Ill have to go see if I can dig up other pieces. The old farmhouse was destroyed in a fire and the remnants were pushed a few hundred yards into a berm. This was not in the debris field but could very well be part of the house. Ill see if theres more around somewhere :)
