Hi all,

What could this piece be? An old light switch plate? Any idea of its age?

How about this small, heavy metal piece? It has numbers on it. Found them before, but I never knew what they were.

Hope you all had a great holiday.

The small piece looks like tool steel, perhaps a metal lathe tool bit, it does have the shape of a left hand bit. But it is hard to tell for sure in your pics.

Sash buckle and a thickness gauge would be my guesses.

Thanks! I’d be very happy knowing this was indeed a buckle!

Small part looks like a joiner or router blade.

It’s flat from what I can see. But because it was out in the elements and underground, it’s misshapen.

Would you say the small tool steel piece old? I doubt it but it was interesting to see the initials engraved on it.

Probably no older than the 1950's. More likely a bit later. Where did you get it? If it was a detector find, it must be a fresh drop. Those things will rust just sitting in a drawer unless you coat them with something.

Yeah, I didn’t think it was old. It looks like a brand new piece of steel lol. I detect on a revolutionary war battlefield, which I’ve now come to the conclusion that it must have been a dump site too because there is bottles and iron scraps everywhere.
