Hi everyone. Stumbled upon this forum trying to find the origin of a particular piece. This is a small jewelry box. I have reason to believe it may be middle eastern, but that’s speculation only. I am trying to determine the origin but clueless about this so not sure where to start. Seems there are some sharp minds here so thought I would try. Thanks in advance for any insight anyone can share.

Attaching photos from phone so I hope that works. Thank you all again.

Welcome to tnet! Are there any markings on the bottom?

It’s very pretty and has a south east asia / india look to it. I’d guess it was made in China very recently and intended as a standalone (like from a gift/trinket shop or craft store) or was for a fashion watch/jewelry in a department store. I base this on the glued in “stones” and the finish. It’s what I call “shiny white metal”.

That is super helpful. Thank you very much! Is there any way to get tight on the country of origin? Like I mentioned, I have some suspicions (unrelated to the piece itself, more so because of it's owner) on it potentially being Philippians, or Saudi Arabia, but trying to nail it down.

Thanks again.

looking at it and especially at the hinges.... I would suspect that it's made in India, and fairly recently. It reminds me of a bridesmaids gift type thing

Even though it looks India in style, I'm gonna say it's a mass produced item made in China. It looks like a plated cast of soft metal. These kind of things made in India seem a bit more hands on constructed imo.
