Well it is not today's finds but from this month tho.
After 4 years of talking about it i finally went on the sunstone trip. 8 hours of driving each way wow .. long drive.
On the way i blew a tire so the last 120 miles i drove on a donut .. including 20 miles on Gravel road.
When we arrived the winter caretaker informed us that the mine was Closed.. i almost blew up myself there.. i had checked the home page the day before and it said May 1st till November first. The caretaker told me they was not open until the 15th but he called the owner and she told him that the fault was theirs. she told him where we could dig and she informed him she would come next day.
Next morning we went to Lakeview OR to get a new tire for the car. we returned to the mine at noon.
We then began digging for Sunstone, and after 7 hours we were all sunburned and had a TON of small stones. (Nothing that can be sold or cut)
at 7.30 Pm the owner was still not there and the caretaker told us that we could dg in the same hole next day. (NOT WORTH IT)
We decided that due to sunburns and crappy digging spot we would go home. so we packed up.
8 Pm we were on the road again. Heading home to Vancouver WA
Long but still a fun trip.
