Oregon Sunstone

I showed my wife your work and she just gasped. I've never heard of the stone. Can you tell me more about it?

Wow! That's brilliant (no pun intended)! Is that one of the regular old straw yellow ones?

hvacker, Right. The oregon sunstone is found in basaltic lava I think. It comes in yellow, green, red and a nice peachy colour.
I've heard of blue, but never seen one. It does get its colour from copper. Sunstone belongs to the family of feldspars, I want to recall they are plagioclase.

Thanks all!
And yes, JL that's one of the regular yellow ones.

I can never have enough, JL. But I'd like to know what you had in mind, PM me.

Nothing in particular in mind, EU, I just have *way* more of the stuff than I know what to do with. Have about 500 carats of the straw yellow I keep meaning to send to Lambert for cutting. BUT, if you wanted some cutters for your own-self, I'm sure we can figure something out!
