I really wanted the name Clean Shaven Prospector, but that would have been WAYYYYYYYY too much to type every time I went to log in, so I went with OreCart instead. It has a nice ring to it, like a pickaxe striking quartz.

My wife and I love geology, and live in a unique location in Maine that has some unique bedrock, as the Maine Geologists say. Regardless, we want to instill in our (4) daughters, ages 5, 12,13, and 14 a love of the outdoors. We often get outside, even in the winter, go for geostone hunts (even though they are not native to Maine and we "salt the mine" so to speak so that they are sure to find a treasure!

My wife, she is an "import", all the way from New Hampshire! (LOL) She lived next door to an old Pyrite Mine, and being the Granite State, a lot of granite mines too. Her father pans for placer gold, and has found his share. Myself, I have deep roots here as far as farming goes, and am chasing after some lode gold from some placer found gold, up a mountainside we own..

Where that takes us...who knows, but we get outside, and that is always a win.

And a Great Welcome to you all. Treasure Net is a great site. You will find there are some really good sub-forums for just your interest, as well as interest that you don't know you even have yet in the realm of "Treasure Hunting".

Great story, great looking family. Lots of luck finding the Mother load.:icon_thumright:

Welcome to TreasureNet from Southern California. Great introduction OreCart. Best of luck to you and your family!

Welcome mighty OreCart from middle Georgia!! It's great when I see dads INVESTING the time with their kids any outdoor activities. Those will be the well-adjusted productive members of society that are becoming rare today, just like common sense. But I'll get off the soapbox to say great to have you and the brood aboard here. Hopefully the kids will look around here on the site as well since there are many great sub-forums to explore, especially during the deep winter months. Instead of being sad to not be outside, they can research their hobbies to be ready for the spring. Once again welcome to you, the better half and kids!!

Welcome from Corsicana, Texas!

Warm welcome to you and yours from sunny Arizona!

Hey thanks everyone for the welcome.

We try and get out even in winter, but it has been really cold here so we have been snuggling up to the stoves (yes, plural even in this Tiny House), but it has been -35 below with the wind chill the last few days too.
