I ordered a new Stealth Scoop from Chuck at SunSpot! I got the 720i with a carbon handle! I needed it light weight but more importantly, I am hoping that it will be more effective at digging than a round nose scoop! Wide scoops can only get so deep when trying not to dig a big hole, as I've experienced with my Stavr scoop. Please don't get me wrong, the Stavr scoop is an awesome scoop but I thought the angular form of the 720i would be easier to dig with when the sand is more compacted and full of shells. I will let you know how the Carbon Fiber Handle works out.
Best of Luck to all!

I picked one up about a month ago. Got the one with the 1/4 inch holes on the back and the bottom. Best scoop I have ever used, carbon fiber handle makes it light as a feather. You're going to love it.

When my new RTG wears out, that will be next scoop. It looks like an awesome tool.

I mounted a couple of Neo-magnets in my scoop, which really work out great.

If you do, get the black coated ones, they last longer.

Hope you enjoy your scoop as much as I have mine, RustyGold. It's the only scoop I've ever used, but I am hooked. It's a great piece of equipment and does what it was built for. I do need to get some magnets on mine tho. If I ever get the time to post the photo of the small ear ring I found Saturday, you will see why modifying my scoop worked better for me. It might not be the case in other environments, but with all the small 22 casings and bullets I find and small jewelry, it's best for the river & lake swim parks, I hunt. I got the idea from a post on one of the forums and it really eliminates aggravation of small items falling thru the holes of the scoop. I have the 90 degree handle set up and like it, but would like to try one with the angle like you have. GL & HH.

Thanks for the kind words and tips guys! I did get the Hybrid model and I am really looking forward to using it!
I was starting to get a little frustrated when digging in the sand with my other scoops!
After digging down so far the wide scoop would kind of hit bottom on depth unless I dug a larger crater!
So I hoping this scoop will tackle depth better!
Best of luck everyone!

Let me offer a word of advice, check out the assist handle. The small holes on the hybrid model, which is the one I have, tend to keep wet sand in the scoop, making it a little difficult to dump out. I mounted the assist handle on the back of the carbon fiber handle at hand level with the scoop flat on the ground. When you need to knock the sand out of the scoop just lift and it falls right out using just one hand. really speeds up your recovery time. -Z Oh and as far as digging deep, this scoop is like using a beach excavator. If you need to dig deeper than this scoop will get you, you may want to rent a backhoe :laughing7:

I ran into that problem with the sand when I put the 1/4 inch hardware cloth in my scoop, but I just do like I did before I modified it. Balance it on my left shoe tip, move my foot back and forth or up and down and get all the sand out. I encounter tons of fresh water mussels and they are heavy, but add that to the sand and it's a load. Lose the sand, lose most of the weight. Plus, I sift most of the sand back into the hole or alongside the hole and push it in the hole with my foot after I recover my target and no large holes left for someone to trip or hurt their foot. Leg muscles are larger than arm muscles and do a great job. Before I modified my scoop, the sand wore me out trying to lift it and dump it into my sifter before the small parts fell out. since you already have the 1/4 holes in the bottom and back, you're set already.
