My first M/D find

I recently heard about a place in my area under construction where a lot of points have been found in the past. I've hunted the area a few times, and while I haven't found anything you can point at and say "That's an arrowhead," I've found some that may be broken ones, or tailings of them.

I'm waiting for the piles of topsoil piled up to be spread out when the job is done to hopefully score quite a few. According to a couple buddies who worked there, the last time a job was done there, the topsoil was spread out and after a good rain, "A couple guys walked out there and in less than an hour, each one filled a large coffee can with only perfect and complete points."

But please see these pics and let me know if I'm on the right track. Thanks.

You're on the right track. That all appears to be the bi-product of knapping. Looks like Novaculite, are you in Arkansas?

I bet you find some good ones. Good luck and welcome to artifacts. keep us posted.

On the right track. I prefer Novaculite, I have several points.
Look forwards to seeing what youu find..
Good luck.

Molly.

Thanks all for the input!

I will post pics of my finds if I eventually get some, hope I'm blessed with a nice collection from there.

Ok, went back today for another hunt, and here's a little more of the same.....
