Thank you in advance as well. I am wanting thoughts on this Mortar & Pestle. lm asking for opinions if anyone has a hunch if it is Native American or something else. It is 7 inches tall and 6 inches tall. Interesting bottom is round so not sure it stood up. Help between knees or somewhat put into ground? But any help is appreciated.

Thank you all for your help. I did get ahold of a antiques roadshow appraiser who did look at the piece. He informed me it is Native American a few hundred years old and pestle does not go with it, but has age.

Well we knew it was native America. Question was what part of the Americas . I'm still in the thought of central Mexico because thats likely where the material came from. The pestle is really nice and while it may not be the same material as the bowl, it may have been used with it for hundreds or even thousands if years.

I am thinking it came from around California region and Mexico as well . I got this at a estate sale and the owners who the sale was for who passed did come from California and at Sale did have lots of Native American items such as headdress, moccasins and arrowheads and tools. But those were all sold and this was left. I paid $15 for set.

I have two bowls and pestle made of the same material. Both were found on ancient sites in mexico. Not the same design as yours but same stone.
