Welcome to the Indian Artifacts Forum! :icon_thumright: That is a nice find, it looks like they may have used it even after it broke.

I agree with my main man Digger. Looks like a broken roller pestle that was still used after being broken. One heck of a find!!

That's a great find. It dates back to the stone age, which seems like a smart azz answer, but it's not. The only way it could have been dated was to have been found with other artifacts that could be dated, such as carbon dating etc. It's a great artifact, and it's darn sure old, at least a couple of hundred years, probably several hundred.

Thanks for the opinions and comments to all that replied . I've been in awe over some of the finds posted here and felt like I could get some expert opinions here on Indian Artifacts Forum about my find . This pestle even has some finger wear marks on one side . I can post more pics if you want to see . You guys are great keep em coming !

Welcome to the artifact Forum Ratman!!................Nice pestle you have there. Bos is right about dating it. this is one of the tools that held up even until today. So dating it would be difficult unless found with other artifacts...................................GTP
