Looks like a small walrus tooth? Tony

Kinda small for Walrus. Keep in mind at least half of this tooth (any tooth) is under gum. You can see the discoloration.

SPiperato ~

Welcome to the forum.

It could be from a Saber Tooth Poodle. But since those are probably not found in Pennsylvania like they are here in southern California, I'm going with some kind of "Bear." But what kind of bear is still the $64.00 question. If bear, it could be Grizzly ~ Kodiak ~ Brown ~ Polar ~ Black ~ Prehistoric Cave Bear ~ Etc; etc.

Here is a link that shows examples of teeth from just about every predator known. Just click on the small thumbnail images to enlarge them. The picture shown at the bottm here is from the site and described as ...

Extra Large Grizzly Bear Teeth ~ Over Four Inches In Length

(However, your tooth is shaped slightly different ~ It doesn't have the curve at the tip :dontknow: )

After doing some additional research ~ I'm really liking the "Lion Tooth" shown at the top. And for comparison, I'm throwing in a "Tiger Tooth" at the bottom.

~ More Research Results ~

The lion is the largest carnivore in Africa. Lions have 30 teeth, including four large pointed canine teeth which are used to hold and kill it's prey. Lion teeth are symbols of rank, leadership and power in traditional African cultures whose chiefs, kings and high status male leaders wear necklaces of large lion teeth to symbolize their rank and authority in society. Lions teeth have very strong medicine and should be handled and worn with much respect.

~ * ~

I also discovered that the larger of the "canine" teeth average about 4" to 4 1/2" in length.

Smile for the camera, Leo! "Okay, but do I really have to? I'd prefer to eat you instead!"
