Here is a photo of a frame of relics I purchased about 10 years ago at a family sale. This has some very nice relics on the frame.
The farm owner was born June 7 1901 and died July 1966.
Knowing my family history, these relics could have been found on a cousin's farm years ago. By the flint material, condition wide range of types.
Some of the material include: Harrison County Flint, Paoli AKA Carter Cave, Attica flint AKA Indiana Green, Jeffersonville chert
I theorize these were found in the heyday of early moldboard plowing with horse and walk behind plow. In my early hunting days through the mid-80s moldboard plowing was still practiced in my area and finds were serious.
If you are not familiar with the different methods including moldboard plowing, read more here. It was a great time.
Currently none of the relic finders' descendants are farmers that I can find so far.
