One old, one new

Found the basket looking item near cellar dating from mid 1800s in central Massachusetts,no idea but looks like it had a handle possibly.Other item found in old grown in farm field..isnt old but an odd find where it was, appears to have a carb jet for some purpose, piece with fin is free moving, tube part hollow with far end capped and can see a center for what ever jet does.

IM thinking the second item with fins is a sewer / drain pipe cleaner
hooks up to a high pressure water source, the water pressure would spin the blades, while propelling the cutter forward
would flush and cut roots and waste as it moved down the pipe

Could be,the fins are quite thin and flexible though, dont think it would do anything to a root.

It's what is left of a Railroad lantern. Usually the tops were marked with the RR. But since that part is gone it would be anyones guess as to which RR. Could be 1860's to 1920 from the style.

That looks like an 80 mm flare tube.
