Well there is kind of a story. This place is a heavily hunted site. Conditions were prime but when I got there (long walk) I saw footprints everywhere. I decided to hunt it anyway, walking rows perpendicular to the other rows of prints. When I got to the very end of the field, there it laid. The other hunter had stopped about two steps short and turned around. Walk to the end of the rows folks! When you say the word Kirk/Stilwell. That is the picture that should be shown. Beautiful. I would have fallen over finding that. Any story behind it?
It might be a hornstone. Lithics are not my strong suit.Man thats a really nice find! What is the material?
Thanks Flinthunter. It could be Cobden. Cobden and hornstone from southern Indiana are sometimes very hard to tell apart.Looks like it might be Southern Illinois Cobden. Beautiful point.
